This 12 page document includes how to set your intention for the shoot, tips for what to wear, what props to bring, ideas for what shots we are going to take and SO MUCH MORE!
Now what if you haven’t booked with me? First, why not?! (ha kidding!) Below I am going to give you my…
Top 5 places to get the best props for your branding session.
1.) Your home! I know, I know you’re thinking that’s your tip? But hear me out! Your home is where some crucial props are going to be. Your laptop, tablet and/or phone are where you probably spend a large amount of time marketing or talking with potential customers. Of course it is going to be smart to take some photos with these items.
2.) Your business. Are you a cosmetologist? Grab those brushes, bowls and scissors because those are going to be excellent to photograph you “working”. Are you a baker? Grab that apron, bowls, and oven mitt. Think of things that you utilize daily in your business because these are great ways to showcase how you work, this includes any products you may sell!
3.) Big box stores (think Target). The home section will have useful items for a brand session. A small clock with a pop of color would be great for a desk shot to incorporate your brand colors. Office supplies that include your brand colors are also a great way to showcase your brand in subtle ways.
4.) Craft stores (think Hobby Lobby, Michaels or even the Dollar store). This is where you can get creative. If you are wanting to add items for the upcoming season (ex. ornament for Christmas, shamrock for Saint Patricks Day) this is going to be a great spot to find unique items. You can also benefit from item items like ribbon, fake flowers/leaves, and even a fun sign that shows your brand’s personality.
5.) Another small business! Networking is crucial to a business. Visit a local florist for fresh flowers the day of the shoot. Then when you post on social media make sure to tag that business. It’s a win-win for both businesses and now you are visible on their social media channels. Another great example is a local boutique. Same idea, you both are benefitting from each other!
